10 Stunningly Beautiful Places To Visit On Nusa Penida

There can be little argument that Bali offers visitors some of the most stunningly beautiful natural sites of any holiday destination in the world, and there are some locations in particular that take that beauty to another level. One of those is Nusa Penida which is a small island that is located to the southeast of Bali and is separated from it by the Badung Strait.

Whilst it is certainly possible for you to make Nusa Penida the place you stay for your entire holiday given that it has several excellent hotels, many holidaymakers instead choose to take one of the many shuttle boats that go between the island and Bali, where their accommodation is located. Whichever way you choose, one thing is guaranteed and that is that Nusa Pineda has plenty of awesomely beautiful locations to visit across its 81 square miles. Here are ten of them.

#1 – Peguyanan Waterfall

No trip to Bali is complete without a visit to at least one waterfall, so why not make it Peguyanan Waterfall on Nusa Penida? The colourful blue steps take you down to it, and when there, you can experience stunning cliff views. You can also visit an ancient temple nearby.

#2 – Teletubbies Hill

We are afraid you are not going to meet Dipsy, Tinky-Winky, Laa Laa, or Po. Sorry kids! Once you see the hills you will understand where they get their name from. If you want to know it is due to the hills’ smooth and rounded shapes covered in green grass, which look very similar to the TV home of the Teletubbies.

#3 – Diamond Beach

This is one of the most stunning beaches in Bali, and arguably, in the whole world. It can be viewed from the cliffs above, and you can also climb down to the beach via a stairway should you wish to sunbathe.

#4 – Thousand Islands Viewpoint

Another breathtaking view which has to be seen to be believed. From this vantage point, you have views of not only the beaches and the crystal clear sea below, but also the cliffs that surround them. An ideal spot for taking some stunning photographs.

#5 – Rumah Pohon Treehouses

A treehouse might sound like a strange tourist attraction, but this is a treehouse with a difference. Actually, there are three treehouses that you can rent via Airbnb, and they all provide a 360° views of some of the most amazing coastline scenery imaginable.

#6 – Tembeling  Natural Pool

Thankfully, this has not yet become a busy tourist spot so you can swim and relax in this natural blue pool without many interruptions. The terrain leading to this is rough, so we recommend hiring a motorbike ride. You also have the nearby Tembeling Beach which is less than 5 minutes’ walk.

#7 – Kelingking – T-Rex head

Not quite an escapee from Jurassic Park, but when you are standing at this viewpoint and look down, the coastal cliff formation looks remarkably similar to a T-Rex with its mouth open and drinking from the sea. Seeing is believing!

#8 – Atuh Beach

This is a small, secluded beach but nonetheless an extremely beautiful one. It is reached using stairs and provides an idyllic spot for sunbathing or swimming in the sea.

#9 – Angel’s Billabong

This naturally formed infinity pool might not have the most local sounding name, but you can rest assured it is popular with locals and tourists alike, not just for its beauty, but for the opportunity to relax.

#10 – Crystal Bay

The best of all worlds as during the day this is an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling, you can visit the temple situated on the small island in the bay, and at night, it provides one of the most stunning sunsets you will ever see.
