One of the biggest headaches for many people when making travel plans is what to do with their jewellery.
This is especially the case when they are going to be away for some time, such as when going on vacation, and they know that there will be numerous social gatherings and events for which they would want to look their best, which will necessitate them wearing their favourite pieces of jewellery.
To travel with more than the jewellery that you wear every day, such as your wedding ring, you are going to need some means of storing your jewellery.
This can be storage solutions for the journey itself, for when you are in your hotel, or both.
Whichever it is you will want something that offers protection for your jewellery, and which also makes it easy enough for you to see and inspect your jewellery to choose the pieces you are going to wear on each occasion.
In truth, we could probably list out dozens of different jewellery storage ideas for travelling, but in this instance, we are going to limit them to ten.
We do so because these are the ten that seem the most ingenious, and that we know are also popular, so that proves they work.
Also, bear in mind these ideas are ingenious and fun ways of storing jewellery for travel, and used when any of the traditional and recommended storage items are not available.
#1 – Paper Plate: Press earrings through the plate and cut slits around the edges for bracelets and necklaces. Once finished, place clingfilm over the plate to keep everything in place.
#2 – Sealable Food Bags: Place jewellery of the same type i.e. earrings, bracelets, rings, in a sealable bag together or if you have enough bags, a single item in a bag and seal them.
#3 – Small Sealable Sandwich Boxes: Here we have something even tougher than sealable bags, namely sandwich boxes. The smaller the better, as this will take up less room in your luggage.
#4 – Safety Pins: These can be used to hold earrings, rings, and bracelets. As a bonus, safety pins can also be used in clothing emergencies should you have a wardrobe malfunction.
#5 – Glasses Case: These are small, close securely and robust, making them ideal for storing all kinds of jewellery items when travelling.
#6 – Tool Roll: These are fabric or canvas and are great for travelling with jewellery because they tend to have loops for individual items, they are lightweight, and do not take up much space.
#7 – Pill Case: These are usually plastic and have individual compartments where you would normally store pills, but here you are going to use those compartments for small items of jewellery.
#8 – Travel Towel As A Jewellery Roll: As simple as it gets. Place your jewellery on a travel towel and then carefully roll it up for a lightweight jewellery storage solution for travelling.
#9 – Buttons For Earrings: To keep pairs of earrings together, place each one through one of the holes in a two-holed button.
#10 – Plastic Straws: Thread each necklace or wrist chain through the hole on the end of a plastic straw to store it and prevent it from getting tangled up with other necklaces and wrist chains.
